We’re pleased to announce that our redesigned bar and lounge will be open for business in May.
Located on the ground floor of The Cornwall Hotel, award winning designer Ruth Wainwright and her team have transformed our existing bar and lounge through a design theme that gives a nod to our colonial past, in what we like to call “colonial chic”. An image that gives a true reflection of this theme is included below, and the scene, which depicts an elephant, will also appear on the wallpaper of a main feature wall in the redesigned bar area.
Guests can expect to experience a traditional style with many contemporary features, such as polished wooden tables and hessian table runners, alongside objects that a Victorian explorer would have obtained during his travels and displayed throughout his manor – giving a taste of what life in The Cornwall Hotel and Estate might have been like in years gone by.
The new cocktail bar boasts an extensive drinks menu, with Bierra Moretti, Cloudy Strongbow and Tribute, an award winning local cask ale, all featuring – whatever your favourite tipple is, you are bound to be able to find it here.
The lounge area has capacity for 60 people, with plenty of comfy chairs and sofas for guests to sit back and relax on – the perfect place to take time out and enjoy a drink with family and friends. During the summer months, the new French doors will be opened to allow visitors to access The Parkland Terrace and make the most of the sun, also giving a great opportunity to sample stunning views of the hotel’s grounds and manicured lawns. In winter, the two open fires will provide guests a cosy spot to unwind and rest with a drink in hand.
Speaking of the opening of our new bar and lounge, General Manager Jamie Le Friec said: “It’s the perfect place for hotel guests to enjoy some relaxed luxury, whether having a casual drink with family and friends, or for local clients to make use of as a meeting venue. We look forward to welcoming visitors to our new bar and lounge to enjoy a drink soon.”
