Cornwall is a hub of activity during October half-term, with fun family friendly attractions and events all over the county plus miles of coastal walks, epic rockpools and wild beaches to discover. Whether exploring Poldark Country, taking to the ice at The Eden Project or simply looking for adventures of the outdoor variety, Cornwall has it all.
Families can get ready to hunt for secret treasures, before re-fuelling with one of our classic beach bucket meals, followed by kids cinema club to wind down. Loved by all our littlest guests, Acorns Restaurant will be a hive of Halloween hubbub during the half-term with daily pumpkin carving.
Here are some of our favourite half-term to-dos…
EXPLORE THE GWENDOLYN TRAIL
Discover our beautiful 43-acre estate together as a family, solving 20 riddles and uncovering the hotel’s secret history as you go. All children who complete the trail will receive a complimentary CD of “A Rainy Day at Moor Cottage” – a story set here at The Cornwall.
TUCK INTO CLASSIC BEACH BUCKET MEALS
We completely appreciate that Little People still have big tastes, so this half-term we have created a special menu, just for them. Served in fun beach bucket style, children are invited to Acorns Restaurant for relaxed, carefree dining throughout the holidays.
TAKE TO THE ICE AT THE EDEN PROJECT
Eden’s popular ice-skating rink is back for another season of fun! Opening from Saturday 14th October until Sunday 18th February, we are one of the best hotels for visiting the Eden Project – just a few minutes’ drive away. Buy your entry tickets at reception to save 15%.
PRIME YOUR PUMPKINS!
Pumpkin carving sessions will be held daily from 21st – 28th October inclusive. There will be one pumpkin per child with a carving kit supplied for your use, adult supervision is essential. Will you be the most creative carver? Judging takes place on Friday 27th.
KIDS CINEMA CLUB (LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!)
As the darker nights draw in, there’s nothing better than winding down and cosying up with a good film. Throughout half-term we’ll be showing some family-friendly favourites. Enjoy free popcorn and squash.
HALLOWEEN FIREWORK BONANZA
Join us on Friday 27th October for our Halloween party. Don your fancy dress for the children’s pumpkin carving competition, feast on hotdogs and other treats, and pop into the drawing room for a sneaky mulled wine! A spectacular firework show will start with a bang at 7pm. Free to attend, everybody welcome. Event in aid of Children’s Hospice South West Little Harbour.
